Spring 2022 Newsletter

Dear Campers,

It’s been a while and I hope everyone is doing well. Spring is in the air, and we are looking forward to another great season. No changes on the MNRFNDM side or the MECP regarding the campground. There are some changes to the campground as there will be an additional $75.00 winter storage per trailer above the seasonal fees of $675.00 for interior sites and $875.00 to lakeside sites. Ice will be $6.00 a bag. Hardwood and Softwood firewood will be available at $10 a bundle for Hardwood and $5.00 a bundle for softwood. Crates of hardwood and softwood will be available as well.

Hoping to have a cell booster available to everyone at the Store at Blue Lake and make some improvements to the cell booster at Little McDougal, hoping the equipment purchased works like it should. An AED machine, EPI pens, First Aid kit and a Naloxone kit will be available at the store at Blue Lake in case of emergency.

Spring cleanup will be starting hopefully sometime in April as many trees have fallen over the winter. There will be a recycling bin at Little McDougal and campers are asked to put their recycling in clear bags and not loose in the bin to make it easier to maintain and sort. Please only clean items in the recycling bags, these are sorted by students, and we would like to keep them safe.

The use of generators is still permitted but a change to quieter and more fuel efficient are appreciated. No rule changes yet, but looking to the near future, the traditional noisy generator phasing out and only invertors may be used. Please keep in mind to limit the use of generators and inventors to “as needed” out of respect for other campers. Please do not use a generator/invertor to power electrical appliances/equipment for a long period of time.

The road grader is fully serviced and ready to go and will touch up the road when conditions permit. The balance of seasonal fees is due at the end of March. Site fees are $675 for interior sites and $875 for lakeside sites less the deposit. Looking forward to seeing everyone this season. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Happy camping,

Steve
